I am, and will forever be a student of designAlways learning, always adapting.
I believe that
design is beautifully imperfect. While its strategy to relay a message is constant,
its form evolves as we do.
Until my time at The Ohio State University, I had never received a formal introduction to design.
The amount of knowledge I have taken in up to this point in my career is a direct reflection of the internships, professors, co-workers, and peers that molded my understanding of the profession.
I aspire to make each of them proud.
I found my way to creative thinking and design at OSU through my love for photography for its aesthetic and its digital possibilities. Before I knew of graphic design, I was taking on clients independently while working full-time as a carpenter for three years, then as an IT tech for another three but I wanted something more
Now, I am a few years removed from graduating Ohio State’s design program with a strong foundation and belong to an industry I truly enjoy. My experience as a photographer brings
a comfort and
familiarity with Adobe Photoshop I can always count on. Over the last five years
I have also grown to have
exceptional skills in Adobe Illustrator and InDesign while pursuing additional interests in UX/UI design
I have a hunger to learn and do more. The market is always changing so I am determined
to do the same. My experience has reinforced the
importance of communication and collaboration to bring out the best ideas and push work forward. I want to continue learning in hopes to pass on knowledge to the designers that come after me so the importance of design continues to grow.
